The alchemy of glass was an installation commissioned for the exhibition The New Paradigma from Isola Design District for the MDW 2022.

Born from silica sand and flames, glass becomes a fluid-like incandescent mass that is shaped by the blown air of the masters. The installation celebrates the relationship between the ingredients and forces that create blown glass and how it transforms during the different stages it goes through. 
Starting the design process from materials is a simple but effective approach to better design for positive change. Just like an alchemist, designers are skilled experimentalists with knowledge in matter, the installation encourages looking at materials holistically chemically, philosophically, spiritually, in relationship with nature.

An ethereal space, that takes inspiration from the water reflections projected on the façade and bridges of Venice on certain sunny days. To enhance the relationship between elements and the nature of blown glass. The alchemy of glass is a surreal installation where water is the true performer. The liquid reflection plays with the green emotional light of Goccia wall lamp, and its surroundings.
